How Homitini handles the details you give us when you order from this storefront.

Last updated 5 October 2026.

This storefront and the farm it sells for are run by the same responsible party — Homitini (Homitini Organics), a working blueberry and pastured-egg farm on the Garden Route. We are the responsible party for the personal information described here. Placing an order sends your details to the farm's own system so the order can be packed, delivered and invoiced; this is not a transfer to an unrelated business.

What we collect

  • Your full name — to label and hand over your order.
  • Your mobile number — to arrange collection or delivery and to reach you about the order.
  • Your email address (optional) — only if you choose to give it, for order correspondence.
  • Your delivery or collection point — which of our fixed stops you choose (Knysna, Sedgefield, Plettenberg Bay, the Crags or the farm gate). We do not collect a street address.
  • What you ordered and what it cost, and the payment status of the order.
  • Pick-your-own booking details — if you reserve a slot, the party's name, mobile number and optional email address, so we can run the pick day and reach you about it.

Why we use it

We use your information only to fulfil your order: to pack it, deliver or hand it over, to contact you about it, to process payment, and to keep the financial record of the sale. Supplying your name and mobile number is required to place an order; the email address is optional. We do not use your details for marketing and we do not sell them.

Who sees it

The farm's staff and its own farm-management system, which records the sale and issues the invoice. If you pay by card online, Yoco processes the payment on its own secure page and handles your card details under Yoco's privacy policy; we receive only the payment result. We do not pass your details to anyone else unless the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Because a sale is a financial record, we keep the order's details — including your name and contact number — for 5 years, the period South African tax and financial law requires us to keep records. After that we delete or anonymise them.

A pick-your-own booking is not a sale, so it runs on a shorter clock: the booking's contact details are removed 30 days after the booked day. After that we keep only the booking reference and the number of people in the party.

Your rights

You have the right to access the information we hold about you, to ask us to correct it, and to ask us to delete it. You may also object to how we use it. To make a request, contact our Information Officer at privacy@homtinifarm.co.za.

Where we are required by law to keep a financial record, we may not be able to delete it before the 5-year period ends; we will tell you if that is the case. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa (inforegulator.org.za, complaints.IR@justice.gov.za).

Keeping it safe

This site is served over HTTPS, and access to order information is limited to farm staff. If you would like a copy or a correction, use the contact above.
